Arumeru River Lodge
After a good but short rest, we woke up to the sounds of the jungle. We are staying at the Arumeru River Lodge near Arusha at the foot of the sacred Mt. Meru, Africa's fourth tallest mountain, an extinct volcano. Because of the vegetation I haven't been able to get a glimpse of either Meru or Kilimanjaro, which is some 50 km away.
We just finished breakfast and are taking it easy on the porch of our room (see photo)
